Occasionally I feel the same thing in third gear as well. Almost as if there's a hesitation at the beginning. When I am am in second gear, the car doesn't seem to accelerate evenly I'll be going along, seemingly fine, and then after a second or two, it really digs in, and accelerates a tiny bit more.
